FEDERATION SQUARE

Taking us back in time to before Federation Sqaure existed, and the Gas and Fuel station was in its place.

Despite the inspirational efforts to adaptively re-use the Gas and Fuel buildings, a newly elected State Government has ordered their immediate demolition and announced an architectural competition to design a public square for Melbourne, to be constructed in time to commemorate 120 years of Federation. 

​

We were briefed to imagine and design our very own Federation Square. As a group we worked on the master planning of the Swanston Street site and then each group member was to develop a building for our Federation Square proposal.
